MARYBOROUGH Golf & Bowls Club is renowned for its friendly atmosphere and stunning golden wattle that surrounds the magnificent, well grassed 18-hole course in spring.

The well-curated fairways are lined with beautiful native flora and the course is inhabited by a wide range of local wildlife.

The course is gently undulating, par 70 for men and 72 for women and accommodates all fitness levels and age groups. Warm up facilities include a practice putting green and nets.

Motorised carts, buggies and clubs are available for hire and a visit inside the clubhouse will provide you with golfing accessories, refreshments, snacks and, best of all, friendly service. Complimentary tea and coffee is always available.

Golf club general manager John Sedunary said the course is looking particularly stunning this time of year and encourages those new to the game to consider trying a new hobby.

“We love the game and are very keen to get more people involved,” John said.

“We have highly-skilled golfers here who are more than willing to provide lessons for people just starting out.”

Group bookings are welcome and catering in the newly-renovated Fairways Bistro is available for corporate, charity and social golf days. With a range of accommodation options close by, including Golden Country Motel and Caravan Park just across the road, golfers can look forward to a relaxing weekend in the heart of the goldfields.
