Matthew Dellavedova made his first meaningful impact as a member of the Sacramento Kings over the last week, getting important minutes as star point guard De’Aaron Fox was sidelined with a knee injury.

Dellavedova played an important role in the Kings’ 115-108 victory last Tuesday against Charlotte, hitting a go-ahead shot during the third quarter from three point range, while also recording three assists.

With Fox sidelined on Wednesday, Dellavedova was again required in the Kings’ road game against the Miami Heat, which saw him record 20 minutes of game time.

Although the Kings would eventually lose 110-107, Dellavedova played his part, recording five points, two rebounds and one assist.

With Fox returning in style on Sunday, hitting a half-court game winner against Orlando as part of a 37-point effort, Dellavedova returned to the bench and did not see any game time.

The Kings are currently sitting just outside the NBA play-in spots in the Western Conference, currently holding a 3-5 record for the season after eight games, ahead of games against Golden State, Cleveland and the Los Angeles Lakers this week.
