The Beaufort Cricket Club will be benefitting from new training facilities thanks to a strong investment from the Victorian Government.
Member for Ripon Martha Haylett was joined by Pyrenees Shire Council mayor Robert Vance, as well as members from the Crows to launch the new facilities.
The upgrades include a three-wicket training facility with a synthetic surface, which is also fully enclosed, while there are also fully retractable internal netting which allows other activities to be completed.
The upgrades were completed thanks to an investment of $100,000 from the Victorian Government’s Community Cricket Program, as well as $135,681 contributed by the Pyrenees Shire Council, $30,000 from Cricket Australia’s Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund, Beaufort Community Bank’s $30,000 and the Beaufort Cricket Club contributing $10,000.
Ms Haylett said the grant will help transform the Crows’ training habits, as well as improving access for Beaufort locals.
“Sport is the lifeblood of rural and regional Victoria. More than ever cricket clubs like Beaufort need quality facilities they can rely on all year round,” she said.
“The new training facility is a real win for the Beaufort Cricket Club and provides a great new space for locals to take their game to the next level.”
