Campbells Creek came from behind to kickstart their season with a thrilling three-goal win over Maldon.

It was a game of two halves. Maldon, as they did in their first game of the season against Dunolly the week before, looked like the better team in the first half, scoring 14 goals to 12 in the opening quarter, before making their move in the second to take a seven-goal lead into the main break, scoring 14 goals to nine.

But Campbells Creek seem to be a different team in 2023 if the second half was anything to go by.

In the third quarter, they narrowly whittled down the margin, scoring nine goals to eight, before making their move in the last quarter, scoring 16 goals to seven to pinch a three-goal victory, scoring 46 goals to 43.

It was the duo of Jordan Bagley and Lillie Wrigley which made a key difference for Campbells Creek, with both scoring over 20 goals, with Bagley leading the way with 25.

Meantime, for Maldon, Zoe Backway led the way with 32 goals.
