COVID cases and deaths remain high across the country, with Victoria recording more than 10,000 new cases every day this week.
There were 12,154 new cases confirmed across the state as of Thursday.
Sadly, 37 more lives were lost to the virus.
Locally, in the Central Goldfields Shire there were 20 new cases with 140 still active — there has been a total 3567 since the pandemic began.
Nearby, the Pyrenees Shire recorded 11 new cases with 89 active.
Mount Alexander Shire confirmed 32 cases with 196 active.
Hepburn Shire recorded 20 new cases and 132 active while Loddon had 6 new cases and 76 active.
While masks are not mandatory, they are strongly recommended by the Victorian Government when you are indoors or in a crowded space.
Vaccinations are strong in the region, with in excess of 95 percent of residents in the 3465 postcode (Maryborough, Natte Yallock, Moolort, Majorca) having two jabs, while up to 80 percent a triple dosed.
A winter dose (or fourth dose) of the vaccine is encouraged for adults aged 30 and over.
