Victoria continues to record thousands of daily COVID-19 cases, including locally, with a number of cases active across the region.
There were over 7600 new cases recorded in the state as of yesterday, bringing the total number of active cases in Victoria to more than 61,000.
There were seven new COVID cases recorded in the Central Goldfields Shire yesterday, bringing the total number of active cases to 95.
Neighbouring shires also have a number of active cases, including the Pyrenees Shire where 11 new cases were recorded yesterday to bring the total to 76 active cases and Hepburn Shire, where 16 new cases were confirmed yesterday to bring the active total to 131.
The Mount Alexander Shire also recorded a further 29 new cases yesterday, to bring the total number of active cases for the municipality to 169.
While cases continue to appear across the state, yesterday’s numbers mark the lowest number of new daily cases recorded since July 3, when 7291 cases were recorded.
The highest number of active cases are in those aged 20-29 and 30-39, with 773 people currently hospitalised with the virus and a further 40 in ICU.
