Free skate lessons for all ages, abilities
1 min read

If you’ve always wanted to glide into the world of skating now is your chance as a fitness based initiative gets rolling this week onwards, offering free lessons.

With five sessions up for grabs, running weekly from now till December, locals will be able to learn how to skate and scooter at the Maryborough Skate and Scooter Park.

Part of the broader Healthy Loddon Campaspe program — which focuses on improving health outcomes in the Campaspe, Central Goldfields, City of Greater Bendigo,  Mount Alexander, Loddon and Macedon Ranges shires — the workshops will be held every Thursday till December 14, from 5 to 5.45 pm each week.

Central Goldfields Shire Healthy Loddon Campaspe Health Broker Adam Tarr said everyone was welcome at the workshop — irrespective of age or ability.

“The initiative is all about encouraging residents in the region to be more active, more often,” he said.

“Given we have such a wonderful new facility here in the Central Goldfields we want to encourage as many people in our community to use it.

“The skate and scooter workshops are just one of four projects we’ll be delivering over the coming months. We’re also in the process of planning cooking and gardening workshops in Dunolly, a Healthy Schools Project and a Healthy Sports Club Project. There’s lots to look forward to.”

All sessions are free to attend and necessary equipment will be provided to attendees — bookings are necessary and can be made at www.trybooking.com/CMNBZ
