Energy Breakthrough marks sustainable partnership
1 min read

The Energy Breakthrough (EB) is less than a week away, and council met with Central Highlands Water on Thursday to mark their continued partnership of 25 years.

The EB is introducing no single-use plastics for the first time in the event’s history, encouraging participants to Choose Tap and make use of the water fountains installed around the precinct.

Last year’s Energy Breakthrough event was the most sustainable ever, with 3500 kilograms of waste materials generated by the event diverted away from landfill.

Central Highlands Water will be on site Thursday and Friday of the event, selling their Choose Tap stainless-steel reusable water bottles with 100 percent of proceeds going to their water bottle partner, the Ballarat and District Aboriginal Corporation.
