Daisy Hill residents are being asked to pull together to help create a community plan for the future.

The plan comes in response to community interest and feedback received by Central Goldfields Shire Council — in November 2022 residents shared their ideas to make Daisy Hill an even better place to live.

Central Goldfields Shire Paddys Ranges Ward councillor Chris Meddows-Taylor said community plans are an important tool for supporting advocacy and seeking funding and resources to support community goals and aspirations.

“But first we must understand what the community’s shared vision is — what do they identify as their strengths and what are their future priorities,” he said.

“The Daisy Hill Community Plan is for the community, however delivery of the plan will be the shared responsibility of community members, council, other government, business and key stakeholder groups and organisations.

“The Daisy Hill Centre Committee is a terrific group to work with and at a recent community event at the centre, we already made a great start identifying some key priorities for the community.

“It will be really exciting to work together with the committee and the community to take that work forward and hear what makes Daisy Hill a great place to live and how we can make it an even better place to be in the future.”

Daisy Hill Community Centre president Bill Robinson said it’s an important opportunity for local residents to have their say and to share challenges, ideas and suggestions and encouraged the community to get involved.

“I encourage our community to get involved,” he said.

Ways to get involved include:
• Complete an online survey at www.engage.cgoldshire.vic.gov.au/daisyhillplan. Hard copies will be delivered to Daisy Hill mailboxes by early July or are available from Daisy Hill Community Centre president Bill Robinson. Completed hard copies can be returned to the community centre
• Have a discussion with council’s project worker Lisa McCoy on 0428 644 070
• Take part in a community workshop on Tuesday, September 12, from 6.30 to 8.30 pm at the Daisy Hill Community Centre
• Share your feedback on the draft community plan later in the year.
