To the sugary delight of both young and old, children from Maryborough’s Roseberry House Early Learning Centre gave out cupcakes to eager residents at aged care facility, Wattle Rise, on March 7.
Initially, the treats were meant to be distributed between the members of a local CFA brigade — in a show of appreciation for the community’s dedicated team of volunteer firefighters, who supported units from across the state in controlling the Bayindeen fire.
Instead, it was decided that the brigades’ representatives, Goldfields Group Officer Peter Higgins (back, right) and secretary Barbara Ipsen (back, left) along with the child care centre’s Brittany O’Shea, Arthur, Poppy, Dempsey and Chema Davis (not pictured), would head down to the local aged care home together and enjoy the cupcakes with residents.
