The Maryborough Probus Club held its AGM on March 7 where the president-elect of Maryborough Rotary Club conducted the installation of new office bearers.
The incoming president is Carol Jackson, secretary Rosalie Fitzmaurice, and treasurer Doreen Burman — supported by committee members Ron Firman, Rosemary Spokes, Jacinda Peddle, Dorothy Mackley, Earl Ellis, Joan Moore and Heather Lockhart.
Probus is designed as a social club for retired or semi-retired people who have served their community well over their working lifetime. It was originally established by Rotary in England and came to Australia in the 1970’s, with the Maryborough branch beginning in 1984. The club is open to all.
