The Maryborough Field Naturalists Club’s 70th anniversary celebration and exhibition was held over the weekend, enjoyed by club secretary Barb Thompson (right) and Moonambel botanist Bernand Abadi who exhibited flowering plants suitable for the region.
The exhibition featured nearly 100 photographs of local flora and fauna and a pair of the rare turquoise parrot — believed to have been extinct back in 1915.
Historical records included photographs and descriptions of the Aboriginal wells near Maryborough, and a book describing life on the local goldfields from the 1850s was on show.
