The local Freemasons Primary School Scholarships program has received a funding boost thanks to a recent donation from the Central Goldfields Lodge Ladies Lunch Group.
Convener of the lunch group, Noelle Mason (second from left) presented the $500 donation which was accepted by Central Goldfields Masonic Group chairman Ken Calder (third from right) at their recent monthly luncheon. They were joined by Irene Allen, Helen Calder, Jeni Melton, Julie Bilton, Gwendy Jessup and Gail Hendrickson.
The donation follows from the Freemasons Day of Unity fundraiser as part of their participation in the Maldon’s Annual Easter Monday Parade, which generated $670, and a $250 donation made by the Burgundy Ladies Group.
Local Freemasons are hoping to further expand the scholarship program in 2024, which supported 19 local Year six students last year with $300 to support their transition into secondary education.
