A first for Maryborough’s StoryWalk in Phillips Gardens, Maryborough Library staff Maree Stephenson and Bec Clark have created their own limited edition Christmas story from scratch, which launched earlier this week. Library mascots Oscar the echidna, Stu the wombat and Penelope the frill-neck lizard embark on a secret mission to guide Santa throughout all the towns in the Central Goldfields on the night of Christmas Eve.

“We wanted to mention all of the little towns in the shire. If you live in Bet Bet, you’re not ever going to see a story that mentions it,” Ms Stephenson said.

For families who wish to see it, Maryborough Library will host a storytime session next Tuesday, December 23, at 11 am. The Christmas edition will be on display until new years.
