COMMUNITY NEWS - DINE AND DONATE KICKS OFF
Maryborough Highland Society commenced their month-long fundraiser on Friday night, raising well over $4000.
Beginning their Dine and Donate campaign to last throughout February, the organisation is honouring the service and dedication of local firefighting volunteers, following the recent bushfires that devastated the Harcourt community. As of lunch time on Friday, $1004 was raised. However, with well over 1000 people attending on the night, including Goldfields brigade members, Mount Alexander brigade members and local community groups, an additional $3485 was raised through purchases of meals, raffle tickets and donations from attendees, bringing the total to $4489.
For the rest of the month, the community is encouraged to continue showing their support, with one dollar from every meal at the Highland Society going towards their campaign. 100226 01
