Community groups looking for some extra financial support or to boost projects are being encouraged to apply for Bendigo Bank’s local community bank grant program.
Run by the Avoca District Cooperative Limited — which manages Community Bank Avoca, Maryborough and St Arnaud — the 2022 Community Grant Program is now open to community groups in those towns and surrounding areas.
In the past, local groups including Maryborough Rotary, Asteria, Maryborough Toy Library and the Maryborough Theatre Group have benefitted from the program.
Avoca District Cooperative Limited chair Lloyd Gollop said investing in the community is something the bank is proud of.
“Our annual grant program demonstrates the deep connection we have with our community. It is a great reminder of the good that banking locally can do,” he said.
“Since 1999, we have invested over $1.6 million to our local community which is something we are extremely proud of.”
Applications close on Friday, September 16 and are run through the Community Enterprise Founda-tion.
All applications must be submitted online via the website https://cia.communityenterprisefoundation.com.au/Program/Index/1
