Wheeling in a weekend of excitement for all, the Maryborough Skate and Scooter Park will host free lessons followed by a thrilling round of competitions tomorrow.
Starting the day with skateboarding sessions from 10 am till midday, which is open to people from all ages, the event will later see talented riders and skaters alike going head-to-head in the Scooter, BMX and Skateboard competition.
All equipment will be supplied for the lessons and there are prizes on offer for the competitions.
“It’s a great chance for the community to try and learn a new skill and essentially a way to be more active,” Central Goldfields Shire Council health broker Alysha Gourley said.
The initiative is being supported by Healthy Loddon Campaspe — with free fresh fruit and water also being offered by the wellness focused initiative.
Additionally, an all-day barbecue will be set up, which will be open for lunch purchases.
The Skatepark Competition and Community Day will get underway tomorrow, March 16 at the Maryborough Skate and Scooter Park at 97 Burns Street.
