Cheque Supports RSL
Maryborough’s RSL sub branch and Vietnam Veterans Association were supported by a Maryborough Highland Society fundraiser last week.
The Maryborough Highland Society presented Maryborough’s RSL sub branch and Vietnam Veterans Association with $1380 last week.
The donation was raised on a recent Highland Society charity night, an initiative that raises over $20,000 for local community groups each year.
Maryborough RSL sub branch president Roy ‘Shady’ Lane thanked the community for their support and the Highland Society for their generosity.
“It’s a very supportive community and you can’t thank them enough for that,” he said.
“The commuity are a great help on all occassions.”
The money raised will be split between each organisation and go toward supporting ex-service people and their families in times of need.
