The Maryborough Theatre Company is ready to bring a tree-mendous carols night to Station Domain tomorrow.

Presented by the Maryborough Theatre Company and supported by the Community Bank Avoca, Maryborough and St Arnaud, the event promises to bring Christmas cheer to Station Domain tomorrow evening.

The sixth annual event themed around bringing a winter wonderland to Maryborough will also have food vans for visitors while they enjoy the sounds of classic and modern hymns.

For Maryborough Theatre Company’s Hannah Matters, who has participated in the concert since 2019, the event provides extra joy to her festive season.

“It’s just a beautiful thing that showcases what Christmas is all about,” she said.

“The reason I keep coming back is I love Christmas — Christmas is my favourite time of the year and I think it’s beautiful to come together and include that community spirit.

“It’s so fun to come along, sing Christmas carols and celebrate with this great big family.

“I think my favourite part is seeing the community’s enjoyment, being up on stage and watching them smile and have fun — it’s an incredible thing that brings the community together.”

This Saturday will be the first time 68-year-old Brian Smith will participate in the annual carols, which he said has brought him plenty of excitement.

“It’s something that I never thought I would do — I looked at the songs and knew a lot of them but never really looked at what they’re about,” he said.

“There’s some great stories, some happy stories and once you get involved you start waking up in the morning singing carols and you hear a song on the radio and off you go again.

“It’s invigorating to get on stage and sing, you have got beautiful people around you and some great voices.

“The sound of the band is going to be terrific, the kids sound fantastic and they really bring the show together.”

Tomorrow’s Maryborough Community Bank Carols will be held at the Maryborough Station Domain with free entry.

Food vans will be onsite from 5.30 with carols beginning at 6 pm.
