Carisbrook will look to take improved form prior to the weekend off into Sunday’s meeting with East Point as they continue to search for their first win in the Ballarat Football League Women’s competition.

Two weeks ago, the Lady Redbacks had one of their better outings against Lake Wendouree when they proved to be competitive, particularly in the third quarter when they kicked three goals.

Nevertheless, the Lady Redbacks still went down by 67 points, and will now be looking to avoid a repeat of their 121-point loss to East Point in round two.

Olivia Butler, Anika Munn, Tara Kennedy, Tara Curtis, Danae Every and Caitlin Butler were the better performers in their loss to the Lakers, and Carisbrook will look to them again to perform well on Sunday.

In their first meeting, the first and last quarters was where East Point did all their damage, kicking six goals in each of those quarters, while holding Carisbrook scoreless throughout the entire game.

Meantime, Carisbrook’s under 16 girls will be looking to keep their finals chances alive in an important game against East Point.

The two teams are currently separated by percentage, with East Point in fifth and Carisbrook in seventh.

Two weeks ago, the Lady Redbacks were competitive against a powerful North Ballarat team, but it wasn’t enough to stop them from losing by 52 points.

The Lady Redbacks kicked their sole goal in the last quarter through Mahli Stone, while better performers included Tiani Jardine, Maddison Smith, Rhani Evans, Georgina Bates, Eden Weaver and Tamika Loone-Grundy.

It will be a season-defining two weeks for the Lady Redbacks, with this game followed by a meeting with fourth-placed Redan.
