The Carisbrook machine continues to roll on its merry way, continuing their unbeaten run with a powerful 53-goal win over Talbot.
The Redbacks did not let up all afternoon, scoring no fewer than 18 goals in any quarter. However, they were made to work for their early lead, with the Hawks putting in a competitive effort early. They were able to score nine goals, but Carisbrook scored 18 to take a nine-goal lead into the first change.
As the match wore on, Carisbrook started to assume complete control of the contest, and the second quarter saw the Redbacks scored 21 goals to five to extend their lead to 25 goals at the main break.
It was much of the same in the third quarter, with the Redbacks adding another 18 goals to six to see themselves take a 37-goal lead at the final change.
The Redbacks finished off the game strongly, scoring 20 goals to four to finish off proceedings.
Andrea Schafer scored 46 goals for the Redbacks, while Paige McLean added 31.
For Talbot, Dom Roche led the way with 16 goals.
