Carisbrook took their first victory of the season, vaulting up to fifth on the ladder courtesy of an eight-wicket win over Newstead.

After restricting Newstead to 5/121 the week before, Carisbrook batted with discipline throughout their innings, with captain Angus Morrison leading from the front in scoring a quickfire 27 before he retired not out.

Josh Nalder was also on the act, scoring 25 after taking 3/12 off 7.5 overs the week before, while Axel Purcell’s 21 off 10 deliveries, as well as Fateh Bains’ 16, helped get the job done for Carisbrook.

Colts Phelans continues to lead the way in the competition after defending 138 against Campbells Creek.

Tate Williams’ 46 the week before helped guide Colts to 7/138 at Campbells Creek Recreation Reserve.

Brett Coon was the hero with the ball for Colts, taking 3/6 off eight overs, which included four maidens, as Campbells Creek struggled their way to 6/100 off their 40 overs.

Coon and teammate Benji Featherstone currently have the most wickets among the Maryborough district cohort in the competition with five apiece, while Williams has the most runs with 125, followed by Coon with 115 and Oliver Cassidy with 102 — achieved in his century against Newstead in round two.

Maryborough had the bye.
