CARISBROOK (35) def NATTE BEALIBA (28)
The winning streak is over for Natte Bealiba, with a determined Carisbrook taking back top spot on the ladder with a seven-goal win.
In a tight game, the second quarter was the decider for the Redbacks as they held off any advance from the Swans.
It was a tight start to the game, with Carisbrook scoring 11 goals to 10 to take a narrow one-goal lead into the first break.
But the second quarter saw Carisbrook dominate, scoring 13 goals to six to open up an eight-goal lead at the main break.
Natte kept on fighting to try and preserve top spot on the ladder, scoring seven goals to five to reduce the margin to six goals at the final break.
Scoring was again hard to come by in the last quarter, and it was another dour affair, with Carisbrook scoring six goals and Natte scoring five goals.
With partner in crime Paige McLean missing, Andrea Schafer stepped up to score all 35 goals for Carisbrook.
For Natte Bealiba, Emma Ryan scored 16 goals to lead the way, but had to battle against the experienced defense of Sherriden Byrne and Elise Mottram.
