Candidate forum planned for Sunday
Residents of the Central Goldfields Shire are invited to meet their local election candidates at a moderated community forum this Sunday.

With two or more candidates running in five of the seven wards, the forum provides a unique opportunity to hear first-hand from those vying for your vote.
The Central Goldfields Shire is a unique part of the world.
While some issues and concerns will be universal, others might be shire-specific.
Now is the time to consider what is important to you.
Is it the three Rs — rates, roads and rubbish? How do we care for the most vulnerable in our community? Do we need better public transport? Better internet and mobile phone coverage? Improved sporting facilities? How will the council balance the needs of the rural and urban population?
Or do you want your representative to consider a bigger picture — to have a plan for industry and investment, population growth and a sustainable future? How do we balance innovation and progress with respect for tradition and history?
Hosted by The Maryborough Advertiser, the event will include a Q&A, where questions from community members will be put to the relevant candidates, as well as moderated questions from the floor.
To ensure your voice is heard, email questions to editor@maryaddy.com.au by close of business Thursday, October 3.
