Campbells Creek go down in Maldon clash
Maldon have bounced back following their loss to Talbot last weekend, taking a com-fortable 56-point win over Campbells Creek.

With a home ground advantage behind them and a stronger performance throughout the season, Maldon entered Saturday’s match the favourites and didn’t disappoint.
Kicking only two goals in the first quarter, Maldon didn’t start the match the strongest with Campbells Creek, having scored a single behind, still very much in the game.
The second quarter however saw Maldon pick up the pace, kicking four goals to the visiting Creek’s two, taking a 25-point lead at the main break.
Consistent scoring from Maldon in the third quarter was an early indicator of the game’s outcome despite Creek having more opportunities at goal, able to convert their chances to four behinds.
This would change in the final quarter, where Campbells Creek added a goal and three behinds, bringing their score to 27, while Maldon let the visiting side taste their afterburners, piling on another five goals to round out the match.
Best on ground for Maldon were Darcy Kelly, Ash Humphrey, Matthew Gray, Damian Wust, Isaiah Hartley and Bailey Brown.
Creek’s Joel Wootton performed well with his two goals for the day, alongside Dylan Stevens, Lachlan Hyland, Mitchell Stevens, Matthew Cox, Mitchell Langley and James Martinovic.
