Avoca served a reminder to the chasing pack outside the top four that their best is still very much dominant, taking a 42-goal win over Dunolly.

The result sees Dunolly move all the way down to eighth as a result, while the Bulldogs are still very much in the minor premiership race.

A strong start from the Bulldogs saw them pile on 22 goals in the opening term, while holding Dunolly to just five goals, to take a 17-goal lead.

The second term was similarly dominant from the Bulldogs, scoring 15 goals to six to extend their lead to 26 goals at half time.

Avoca continued to provide some dogged defending throughout the third term as they never gave the Eagles a sniff, restricting them to just four goals in the third term, while going about their merry way themselves with 17 goals to lead by 39 goals at the final change.

The Bulldogs eased to victory in the final quarter, scoring 15 goals, while Dunolly had their best quarter of the day, scoring 12 goals.

Maddy Egan scored 54 goals, while Gina Beavis scored 15 for Avoca, with Lucy Howell and Keisha Tonzing playing well.

Dunolly had Zoe Aldridge leading the way with 16 goals.
