Avoca continued to show that they shouldn’t be trifled with in the race for the minor premiership, with a dominant final three quarters helping them put Royal Park to the sword on Saturday.
The loss all-but ends Royal Park’s chances of securing a finals berth in their final season, now sitting three games outside the top eight with five games to play.
Not for a want of trying, however, the Tigers were right up for the fight in the opening quarter when they were able to score nine goals, keeping in touch with the Bulldogs, who scored 14.
But in the second term, the Dogs started to flex their muscle, and put the game away by scoring 16 goals to five to open the margin to 16 goals.
The Bulldogs continued on their merry way in the third term, scoring 14 goals, while holding Bushy to three.
Avoca were even more dogged in the final quarter, restricting Royal Park to just three goals, while scoring 13 of their own to run out comfortable winners.
Maddy Egan scored 33 goals, while Gina Beavis added 23 for the victorious Bulldogs, while Abbey Devereaux scored 14 for Royal Park.
