Avoca continued their unbeaten run in season 2024, defeating Talbot by 52 goals at Avoca Public Park.
It was an impressive performance from the Bulldogs as they wore the Hawks down after a spirited start.
The opening quarter saw Avoca score 17 goals to 10 to lead by seven at the first change. Maddy Egan scored 10 goals, while Kodie Smith filled in the goal attack position and scored on seven occasions for Avoca, while for Talbot, Dom Roche scored seven times and Eleisha Phelps three.
The Bulldogs were relentless in the second term, scoring 16 goals to nil to make it a 23-goal lead at the main break. Egan continued her stellar run, scoring 13 goals, while Smith added three for the Bulldogs as they controlled all aspects of the game.
There was no let up in the third term, and if anything, the Bulldogs were warming up offensively, scoring 20 goals to six to lead 53-16 at the final change. Egan scored 15 goals, while Smith added five for Avoca, and for Talbot, Roche scored five goals, and Phelps one.
The Bulldogs finished full of running, scoring 22 goals in the last term to Talbot’s seven to make it 75 for the day as the league’s best attacking unit continued to hum.
Egan scored 18 goals to make it 56 for the day, while Smith scored four of her own to finish with 19. For the Hawks, Roche scored five goals to finish with 17, while Tia Skelton scored twice.
Avoca now heads into the bye, while Talbot travel to Campbells Creek.
