Carisbrook showed that they mean business for the 2023 season, taking a first-up 36-goal victory over Royal Park.

With both teams looking to make big steps in season 2023, it was Brook who made one of the bigger statements of the round as they won every quarter.

An 11-goal to three opening period gave the Redbacks the start they were after, before extending their lead going into half time as they scored 14 goals to six to take a 25-9 break.

As conditions intensified, Carisbrook were able to continue on their scoring ways, scoring 16 goals in the third quarter, while restricting Royal Park to five, taking a 41-14 lead at the final break, before scoring 13 goals to four in the final quarter to eventually run out 54-18 winners and finish the round in second place on the ladder.

Andrea Schafer was too strong throuhgout the day, scoring 38 goals, while for Bushy, Chelsea Noonan led the way with 11 goals.
