Brook show winning form over Lexton ahead of finals
Carisbrook has secured what should be a gripping qualifying final with Talbot this weekend after taking care of Lexton by 95 points.

Already keen to finish what has been a tough season on a high note, the Tigers received some extra motivation when it was announced on Friday afternoon that highly respected co-coaches Dylan Bourke and Dylan Lewis would be stepping away from the role at the end of the season.
While the Tigers were determined to end the Bourke and Lewis era with another positive memory, the Redbacks’ defence had other plans.
After keeping Lexton scoreless in the first quarter of their round five meeting, Carisbrook nearly replicated the feat, allowing just one point while kicking four goals of their own to take a 25-point lead into quarter time.
The Tigers found ways to break down one of the league’s most vaunted defences in the second quarter, thanks to the efforts of Lucas Blazko and Pat Parr, opening their goal account with two goals in the term.
However, the Redbacks continued to pour on the points even without leading goalkicker Tim Rinaldi in the side.
Mid-season addition Harry Whitty and Thomas Gardam filled Rinaldi’s role of spearheading Carisbrook’s forward line seamlessly, allowing the visitors to increase their lead to 42 points at half time.

The Redbacks remained unrelenting to begin the second half, scoring seven unanswered goals in the third quarter to balloon the margin out to 82 points at the final change.
With their 2025 season about to strike midnight, Lexton fought hard in the fourth quarter, but it didn’t have any effect on the final result as the Redbacks now prepare for Saturday’s clash with the Hawks.
After only being able to play two games last season, Mitchell Treacy has been crucial to the Redbacks’ success this season, being named in the best players for the 10th time this season with just 12 games played.
Co-captains Nicholas Wright and Jackson Bowen led by example on Saturday, also listed among the best players alongside Todd Bryant, Jack Duggan and Brady Neill.
Whitty led the team with six goals, Gardam was close behind after replicating his tally in his last meeting with Lexton with four goals and Neill and Wright booted two.
Lexton named Blazko, Luke Guelen, Lachy Rokebrand, Jaykeb Lench, Parr and Thomas McGregor as their best players.
Blazko, Parr and Jackson Kurzman were the Tigers’ goalkickers, all finishing with one
