Carisbrook have continued their early-season dominance, sweeping aside Dunolly to win by 36 goals.

It was a dominant opening half which set up the victory for the Redbacks as they took control from the outset.

A 15-goal to three first quarter gave Carisbrook a 12-goal lead at the first change, before they added to that with an 18-goal second quarter, while conceding just six to the Eagles to lead 33-9 at half time.

While the Eagles found the goals more often in the third quarter, and enjoyed their best passage of the game in that time period, adding eight goals, they could not stop Carisbrook from scoring on another 12 occasions as the lead swelled to 28 at the final change.

Sixteen goals to eight in the final quarter cemented Carisbrook’s win and vaulted them to the top of the ladder.

Both Paige McLean and Andrea Schafer had good afternoons in front of goal, with McLean scoring 32 and Schafer adding 29.

Zoe Aldridge was Dunolly’s leading goalscorer, scoring 15, while Samantha Cheetham added 10.
