Carisbrook defeated Avoca by a massive 194 points on Saturday in what was a one-sided game.

It was one way traffic from the opening bounce as Avoca could not stop the Redbacks’ superiority out of the middle as the visitors slotted 10 goals to just one behind in the opening term.

It was much the same for the remainder of the game, but Avoca did manage to score four of their five goals in the second half.

Despite that, the Bulldogs simply couldn’t match the Redbacks’ scoring power, as they matched their first half tally of 17 goals throughout the second half, which included an 11-goal final quarter.

Bailey Edwards was the best man on the ground, but the Bulldogs’ Tyler Baldock had the job of running with him and did actually restrict him a couple of times, however Edwards won out in the contest overall.

Jackson Bowen and Ryan Kitchin had a spirited battle in the ruck, but the Redbacks were too good at ground level and quick passing into the leading forwards gave Anthony Zelencich the opportunity to kick 10 goals, and Ash Munari finished with seven goals.

Dean Chester was another forward who had numerous shots, but his accuracy was astray, and he could easily have finished with six or seven for the game.

Carisbrook’s best players were Edwards, Munari, Harry Butler, Zelencich and Andrew Toan.

Avoca’s better players were Joel Antonio, Kitchin, Bryce Howell, Jason Hunt and Baldock.
