BREAKING: After many years of discussions, 2024 will be the first season under a united front for Maryborough Rovers and Royal Park.
The two teams haveconfirmedthey willamalgamate for the 2024 Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League season following membervotes tonightat both Jubilee Oval and Hedges Oval.
In ajoint statement tonight the clubs announcedthe mergerwould be seen as a "fresh start".
"This amalgamation is seen as a positive step forward of the Maryborough community and for football and netball in the town," the statement reads.
"The establishment of this exciting new club is seen as a fresh start for both clubs. The club will be community focused and a club that the Maryborough community can be proud to be part of and support."
A new board will be established in order to form a new name and colours for the club.
