BlazeAid is calling for donations to assist disaster hit communities and farmers throughout the region.

In the wake of recent natural disasters, BlazeAid has launched a critical donation drive to aid in the rebuilding efforts of farm fencing — supporting the heart of rural communities.

The organisation is calling on the generosity of the public to help fund the operation of basecamps, provide sustenance for dedicated volunteers, and purchase essential tools required for reconstruction.

BlazeAid, a volunteer-based organisation, has been at the forefront of disaster recovery, working tirelessly to restore the damaged livelihoods of farmers.

The upcoming donation drive is a pivotal part of their mission, ensuring that 100 percent of the funds raised will be directly channelled into purchasing materials, feeding the hands that rebuild, and maintaining the basecamps that serve as operation centres.

Donations to BlazeAid are not only a gesture of goodwill but also a contribution that taxpayers can deduct — this provides an added incentive for donors to contribute, knowing that their support is recognised and encouraged by the tax system.

As the rebuilding process is a monumental task, BlazeAid relies on the strength and compassion of it’s army of volunteers.

These selfless individuals work in the hardest-hit areas, often under challenging conditions, to ensure that farmers can return to their vital role in our food supply chain.

The organisation emphasises that every dollar donated goes straight to the cause, with only basic administrative fees to ensure the community receives the full benefit of all donations.

This transparency and commitment to direct action set BlazeAid apart and amplifies the impact of each contribution.

The June donation drive is more than a fundraiser — it’s a beacon of hope for farmers who have faced the brunt of nature’s fury. It’s an opportunity for communities to come together, demonstrating the power of collective action and the spirit of resilience that defines our nation.

BlazeAid’s commitment to the agricultural community is unwavering, and the success of this donation drive is crucial. The organisation urges everyone to consider the far-reaching benefits of their support, as the ripple effects of disaster do not end at the farm gate.

Examples of support from donations include;

  • $50 — provide the personal protective equipment to a new volunteer to wear on site

  • $100 — provide the daily food costs for four volunteers in camp

  • $200 — provide enough fuel for a week for the cars that tow the trailers to the farms and move them between camps

  • $500 — Provide for the annual replacement cost or repairs to fencing tools in a trailer

  • $1000 — cost to BlazeAid to remove and replace 5 km of fencing.

  • Since 2009, Blazeaid has grown from a small group of farmers helping each other to a national charity that has provided:

  • 210 camps across Australia

  • 37,294 volunteers working 398,788 days

  • Worked on 13,660 farms and rural properties

  • Cleared 18,069 kms of fencing and rebuilt 17,822 kms of fences.

  • For those interested in contributing to the donation drive, please visit BlazeAid’s official website www.blazeaid.com.au or contact their donation hotline at 0418 990 267.
