There were good results for Maryborough’s interleague representatives over the weekend.
For Millie Cassidy and Ella Patten, they were part of the under 17 Bendigo Football Netball League (BFNL) netball team that competed in the Netball Victoria Association Championships in Melbourne on Sunday at the State Netball Centre.
Cassidy and Patten played their role in a BFNL team which took three wins and a draw from 10 games.
Their highlights included a three goal victory against the Gippsland League, an 18-goal victory against the Central Murray League and a five goal win against West Gippsland.
That meant that the BFNL finished in eighth place for the championships, an excellent effort overall.
In Shepparton on Sunday, Maryborough had seven representatives in the Bendigo Junior Football League (BJFL) 22 that took on the Goulburn Murray Football League and Murray Football League.
Archie Chadwick, Billy Skinner, Campbell Wood, Lachie Condie, Logan Howell, Will Soulsby and Zac Cicchini all made the trip up to represent the league.
The BJFL were unsuccessful in their first game, going down to Goulburn Murray 2.6 (18) to 6.5 (41), but were much more successful in their second game of the day, winning 11.8 (74) to 2.1 (13) against Murray.
