Avoca maintain form with 57-goal win
Avoca took control of Campbells Creek early and never looked back, taking care of the Magpies with an 88-31 victory.

The Bulldogs remained unchang-ed for the third game running, attempting to solidify their experi-enced lineup ahead of the finals.
Fresh off back-to-back wins, the Magpies were without midcourter Eillish Cumming and shooter Paige Langley for this clash, with B grade shooter Claire Jones called up to give Campbells Creek much-needed attacking depth.
The reigning premiers displayed why they were the heavy favourites right from the start, scoring the first seven goals of the game to build a considerable lead early.
Some great intercepts from Faith McKenzie and Keisha Tonzing helped the Bulldogs limit the Magpies to five goals in the first 15 minutes, a key factor in Avoca’s 17-goal lead at quarter time.
Even with some abnormal early misses, Avoca star shooter Maddy Egan piled on the goals in the first quarter with some exceptional rebounding, finishing the term with 18 goals while shooting partner Gina Beavis converted four.
After being used as a super-sub in recent matches, Elouise Jones started at shooter for Campbells Creek alongside Jemma Finning. Elouise Jones scored three in the first period while Finning ended the quarter with two.
While the Magpies improved coming out of the first break, the Bulldogs showed no mercy, capitalising on any mistake their opponents made and rapidly moving the ball from defence into attack.
A total of 24 goals in the second term gave the hosts a commanding 46-13 advantage heading into half time.
While Egan remained the main option for the Bulldogs with 16 goals in the period, Beavis had more chances to show off her shooting range, sinking eight shots in the second term.
With the Magpies showing more drive around the court thanks to Finning moving into the midcourt alongside Taylah Sartori and Ella Cochrane, the Jones, Elouise and Claire, combined to score eight goals, with Claire leading the way with five.
Campbells Creek showcased their fight in the third quarter, improving their competitiveness against the reigning premiers as the game progressed.
However, Avoca’s quality ensured the margin expanded to 42 goals by the final break.
Egan often found space behind the Magpies’ defence, allowing for some easy shots on her way to scoring 15 for the term. Beavis was regularly the one feeding the lob passes to Egan, also contributing four goals.
Elouise Jones regained the form she displayed in the Magpies’ back-to-back wins in the third period, netting seven while Claire Jones assisted Elouise’s efforts with three.
The Bulldogs didn’t take their foot off the gas until the final whistle, finishing the job strongly by outscoring Campbells Creek 23-8 in the final quarter.
After scoring 13 goals in the last 15 minutes, Egan ended with a game-high 62 goals, her highest tally of the season. Her teammate Beavis brought her final tally to 26 goals after making 10 of 11 shots in the last term.
Elouise Jones ended as the Magpies’ top scorer with 20 goals, including seven in the final quarter.
