Swap meet returns to Talbot
1 min read

For the past 21 years, Talbot Swap with the Lot has been a regular fixture on the calendar for lovers of all things collectable. Held at the Talbot Football Ground on the last Sunday of October, the event sees approximately 300 stall holders and 1500 bargain hunters descend on the tiny township of Talbot.

Greg and Heather McNeilly have been involved in running the event since its inception. Greg said throughout that time the swap meet has changed from focussing largely on motoring parts, to cater for bargain hunters and hobbyists of all interests.

“This swap meet has something for everyone,” Greg said.

“It has antiques, toys, plants, stuff for the man cave, stuff for the lady cave and those rare and hard to find bits and pieces that might finish off your collection or project.”

Stall holders are welcome to arrive at the football ground on Saturday from 10am. Greg said there will be a dinner at the football clubs rooms that evening, and the actual swap meet starts bright and early at sunrise on Sunday.

Funds raised from the event go to support community groups throughout the Central Goldfields Shire.
