The blue-green algae warning for Tullaroop Reservoir has been removed following a significant decline in algae levels.

Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) made the announcement over the weekend, after the toxic algae warning was first issued January 25 — in place for 100 days.

GMW will continue to undertake water quality monitoring and if blue-green algae reach levels deemed unsafe by national health guidelines, a warning will be issued.
