Active Living Census opens
The Active Living Census (ALC) is now available for Central Goldfields Shire residents, a vital regional survey collecting important information on residents’ health, wellbeing, and lifestyle.
The ALC, which was conducted in the Central Goldfields Shire in 2019, covers key topics such as physical activity, nutrition, life satisfaction, and access to recreational opportunities, to guide future community planning and investment.
The ALC will provide a snapshot of how people in the Central Goldfields Shire live and what barriers they may face to staying healthy and active.
Central Goldfields Shire mayor Grace La Vella urged all residents to take part by completing the census online.
“The Active Living Census is a crucial tool for understanding the health and wellbeing needs of our community. The more people who participate, the clearer the picture we get. We strongly encourage everyone, young or old, active or not to take 15 minutes to fill it out. It’s your health, your community, your say,” she said.
“Thanks to community involvement in the 2019 Active Living Census, we have gained funding that has delivered a range of projects across the Central Goldfields from workshops, infrastructure, education, activities and programs.
“The insights from this year’s ALC will be just as valuable in shaping our city’s future so we are again calling on every household to help build a healthier Central Goldfields Shire by completing the online census.”
Completing the census online is easy, anonymous and takes around 15 minutes.
Every response helps inform the daily life of residents, including improving bike paths, playground and facilities, increasing access to healthy food and ways to be physically active.
Everyone who completes the census online will have the chance to be in a draw to win their share of $10,000 in prizes in early bird and weekly prize draws.
