AMHERST/TALBOT

ADELAIDE LEAD

About 2 kms from the Maryborough Rd turn-off along the Old Avoca Road is a track leading to the Paddy’s Ranges camping ground. It is caravan friendly and has a toilet block.

19TH CENTURY CHINESE BATHS

Thought to be the only remains of a Chinese joss house, the Chinese Baths are just off Possum Gully Road, about half a kilometre from the Avoca/Talbot Road turnoff.

The flat, clear ground leading to the baths is popular with campers. It is caravan friendly but there are no facilities on site.

NO GOLD HERE DAM

Off a marked track on Blacksmith’s Gully Road about halfway between the Ballarat Road and Avoca/Talbot Road.

The ground is flat and caravan friendly, but there are no facilities on site.

THE CARALULUP NATURE CONSERVATION RESERVE

Caralulup Nature Reserve is halfway between Talbot and Caralulup.

Stoney Creek Track is suitable for caravans and has a picnic table and wood fire barbecue.

Potter Dam camp site is a large clearing with no facilities.

AVOCA

LIONS CLUB PARK

Situated on the banks of the Avoca River, the camping spot includes a playground, a large gazebo with an electric barbecue, two picnic tables and a water tap. It offers easy access for caravans and includes a toilet block.

BEALIBA

BEALIBA RESERVOIR RECREATION AREA

Facilities include tables, chairs, fire pits and two long-drop toilets.

EDDINGTON

THREE BRIDGES

From the Bendigo-Maryborough Road in Eddington turn onto Eddington Road. Turn right onto Baringhup-Eddington Road then right onto Back Eddington Road. Three Bridges is just along Back Eddington Road on the Loddon River. A large clearing serves as a parking area with room to pitch tents. There are no facilities.

LAANECOORIE

RIVER RECREATION RESERVE

Located on the Loddon River, the campground has a designated tent area and lots of room for caravans. The campground is set along a gravel road which travels alongside the Loddon River. Facilities include picnic tables, wood fire barbecues, water taps, rubbish bins, toilets and a boat ramp.

MALDON

BUTTS RESERVE

Beneath Mt Tarrengower, the camping ground includes picnic tables, wood fire barbecues, bins, toilets, and water taps along the back of the toilet block. There is also a large undercover area with a concrete floor located separate to the picnic area.

TEDDINGTON

No cats, dogs or firearms are permitted. BYO firewood or gas barbecue, as fallen logs must not be disturbed.

CAMPING AREA

There are a variety of camping spots within the Kara Kara National Park, alongside the Upper Teddington Reservoir in Redbank. A number of campsites are available with picnic tables and fire pits/wood fire BBQs. There is also a toilet block and water taps (not suitable for drinking).

HUT CAMPING AREA

The two-room wooden hut, constructed around 1955, is open for campers. The interior of the hut is bare, apart from a cupboard, some chairs and a fireplace. Outside is a single picnic table, a wood fire barbecue, and a small toilet block. One room of the toilet block contains a drop toilet, and the other is an empty cubicle with hooks in the roof for hanging your own camp shower.

TIMOR

TIMOR STREAMSIDE RESERVE

On the eastern side of the reserve there is a large clear area alongside the road which is good for parking cars/caravans or pitching tents. There are no facilities at this site. There are public toilets at the Timor Playground, which is a five minute drive from the Timor Streamside Reserve.

WEDDERBURN

HARD HILL TOURIST RESERVE

Just off Wilson Street in Wedderburn, Hard Hill camping offers wood fire barbecues, picnic tables, undercover areas, toilets and showers.

MOUNT BECKWORTH SCENIC RESERVE

There are three free campsites at Mount Beckworth Scenic Reserve, which is located halfway between Clunes and Talbot, off  Old Ballarat Road.

CORK OAKS CAMPGROUND

Facilities include picnic tables, wood fire barbecues, fire pits, toilets and plenty of room for tents, caravans and RVs.

MANNA GUMS CAMPGROUND

Facilities include a picnic table, wood fire barbecue and fire pit.

THE DAM CAMPGROUND

Facilities include a picnic table, fire pit, bench seat and wood fire barbecue.
