The first day of play of round 13’s A grade matches were washed out on Saturday, as heavy rain that lashed the area on Thursday and Friday meant the grounds were unable to dry in time.

Both the Colts Phelans vs Maryborough and Clunes vs Laanecoorie Dunolly clashes were affected, as well as A reserve’s match between Beaufort and Clunes.

It means that both A grade games will now boil down to an effective one-day game, with 40 overs to be bowled per team.

Three of the five A reserve matches for the weekend in the meantime went ahead, with the aforementioned Beaufort vs Clunes game called off, while Laanecoorie Dunolly forfeited their game with Avoca.

All lawn bowls games for the weekend went ahead after the rinks were able to dry sufficiently.

Full details of both A reserve and lawn bowls reviews will be published in Friday’s edition of The Advertiser.
