2026 MCDFNL Netball Round 6 Preview — Harcourt vs Carisbrook
While Carisbrook will be heavily favoured to earn their fifth win of the season this weekend, their upcoming opponents, Harcourt, will be determined to provide a prolonged challenge.
Despite their daunting gauntlet to start 2026, the Lions looked to be an intriguing side to follow after competitive first-half performances against contenders Talbot and Lexton.
After being unable to showcase a similar level in their last two matches against Avoca and Navarre, Harcourt hopes to once again produce a strong showing against one of the competition’s powerhouses before their critical run of fixtures in June and July.
It certainly won’t be an easy task for the Lions, as the Redbacks have been in exceptional form with dominant victories over the Maryborough Giants and Maldon.
Carisbrook possesses one of the deadliest midcourts in the competition, with recruit Charlotte Cain gelling immediately with co-captains Laura Hurse and Katie Bilton.
It’s a combination that any team would struggle to contain completely, but Harcourt midcourters Morgan Howorth and Ella Rule will look to slow their production with their excellent defensive skills.
Another intriguing battle will be in Carisbrook’s attacking goal circle, with Redbacks player-coach Jordan McClure and Abbey Nalder both sitting inside the competition’s top 10 goal scorers with a combined 285 goals.
After being the catalyst for Harcourt’s strong starts against Talbot and Lexton, the defensive pairing of Carly Chaplin and Laura Suckling will look to make McClure and Nalder earn their shots throughout Saturday’s encounter.
