2026 MCDFNL Netball Round 6 Preview — Campbells Creek vs Navarre
Navarre hopes to continue its recent bulldozing form at Campbells Creek Recreation Reserve this weekend when they take on the Magpies.
Ever since losing its season-opener in a nail-biter to Natte Bealiba, the Grasshoppers have been a wrecking ball with four consecutive victories by an average margin of 62 goals.
While their new-look attack has been a key factor in their dominant stretch, Navarre’s frightening defence has been equally impressive.
Double J’s Jess Parry and Jade Allen have set the tone for a powerful unit with their surveillance of the goal circle, while Brooke Currie, Sidney Dyer and Amber Perry are all capable of breaking up play in the midcourt.
The Grasshoppers have also seen their emerging defenders make solid contributions at the A grade level, with Reanna Stewart and Chloe Cassidy making the most of their senior cameos.
While their upcoming encounter with Navarre will be a challenging test, Campbells Creek will strive to be competitive ahead of key fixtures against Trentham, Newstead and the Maryborough Giants.
That objective certainly isn’t out of the question, as the Magpies showed tremendous fight in their 2025 finale against the Grasshoppers, eventually going down by 15 goals after a 20-19 second half.
After a challenging first half versus Avoca last Saturday, Campbells Creek produced one of their best quarters of the season against the reigning premiers. It’s a performance the Magpies will like to replicate for more extended periods against the Grasshoppers.
