On top of the A grade decider, six more grand finals were played on Saturday afternoon, with plenty of thrillers to go around.

A thrilling B grade grand final saw Carisbrook hold on at the very last gasp to take a 33-32 victory over Avoca.

The Redbacks were able to build a slight lead towards the end of the game, before a dramatic comeback from Avoca meant the game was on the line towards the end, but it was to no avail.

The win meant the Redbacks came from fourth to inflict the Bulldogs’ second loss of the season, which was the only senior premiership the club missed out on in the 2023 netball season.

Despite the loss, Brodey McKay was named best on court for Avoca, thanks to a strong display in defence.

Fortunately for the Bulldogs, there was no such problem in C grade, taking an eight-goal win over Trentham.

The Dogs kept the third-placed Saints at bay throughout the afternoon, and Matilda Davis cemented herself as a player to watch in the future, securing best on court honours.

The 17 and under grand final was an emotional affair, with Royal Park taking to the court for the final time. Unfortunately for the Tigers, it was not enough to prevent old netball rivals Harcourt from taking a 12-goal victory, winning 35-23.

A strong display in the goal ring from Tegan McKay — still eligible for under 15 netball — earned her best on court honours.

McKay, and her Harcourt teammates, were also part of the 15 and under team that also defeated Bushy, as the Lions, much like their senior football counterparts later in the day, completed an undefeated season by proving too strong, scoring an 11-goal victory.

A strong performance from the reliable and versatile Madeline Springate helped her earn best on court honours.

It was a triple treat for the Lions, with the 13 and under team earning a 23-goal victory over Natte Bealiba.

The dominance of the Lions was telling as they poured in 35 goals for the morning.

Ellie Clifford’s work, zipping around the midcourt, helped her earn best on court honours.

Newstead and Natte Bealiba kicked off grand final day with a thrilling game which was resolved in the favour of the Kangaroos, who took a two-goal victory.

An excellent performance from Scarlett Ramsey helped secure the best on court medal.
