A dominant second half performance has allowed Carisbrook to take a six-goal victory over Natte Bealiba in the reserves grand final.
The favourite to take victory, given they finished third and Natte finished fifth, the Redbacks weren’t keen to let the opportunity to win the flag slip, and they duly delivered with a seven-goal to three second half performance, having led by 15 points at the main break.
Ryan Hudson-Morgan delivered a dominant performance, kicking two goals, and was voted as the best player on the ground, while Jack Schafer, Lewis Cain, Tom Wright, Nathan Wright and Jayden Taggart were also named in the best for Carisbrook.
Lachlan Cameron, Jamie Evans, Evan Weir, Mitchell Olafsen, Keynan Lanfranchi and Stephen Barrett were all named in the best for Natte Bealiba.
Maldon faced their biggest challenge of the season in the under 17.5 competition, but were able to take a 21-point victory over Carisbrook.
The Dons led by just six points at the main break, but a two-goal to zero quarter helped set them on their way to a big win.
Noah Thompson was voted best on ground by the umpires, while Xavior Noy was awarded the AFL Victoria medal. Callum Buchanan, Lochie Holman, Thomas Smith and Blayne Cananzi were also named in the best.
For Carisbrook, Ethan Townsing, Hayden Cain, Aiden Carter, Declan Townsing, Leo Fitzgibbon and Brian Shafik-Eid were all named in their best.
It was a better story for Carisbrook’s under 14.5 team, as they took a dominant 90-point win over Avoca.
A 10-goal to one second half allowed the Redbacks to turn a 33-point half time lead into a demolition.
Shafik-Eid was in the thick of everything as he was voted best on ground, with Wil Smith, Harvey Rumpff, Harrison Malone, Archie Sanders and Ty Sanders all voted in Carisbrook’s best.
For Avoca, Aidan Blair, Matthew Wardlaw, Tommy Barber, Aiden Collicoat, Darcy Coghlan and Mitchell Wardlaw were all named in their best.
Kicking off the day were Natte Bealiba and Newstead, with the Swans delivering a 33-point win, and holding the Kangaroos scoreless.
Ollie Ross was dominant for Natte, scoring best on ground, while Judd Ross, Angus Jardine, Charlie Graco, Jimmy Ross and Hugo Ross were also named in the best.
For Newstead, Fian Blundell, Jack Elliott, William Garsed, Elwood Ebery, Xavier Britt and Wilbur Bunting were all named in their best players.
