Volunteers wanted to support Dunolly Neighbourhood Centre
1 min read

The Dunolly Neighbourhood Centre is on the look out for locals interested in volunteering their time to share skills and interests with the community.

The centre relies on volunteers to deliver its extensive range of services and activities including practical help with computer access, filling in online forms and applications and skills development, along with leisure activities.

Dunolly Neighbourhood Centre co-ordinator Kath Ryan said she is eager to engage volunteers from the wider community.

“We know there are already volunteers in Dunolly who live outside the township and we welcome anyone who would like to join us in making Dunolly a vibrant volunteering community,” she said.

“At the moment I am particularly interested in talking to anyone who can  share computer, tablet, internet surfing or general IT skills and has some time to volunteer with us.

“We offer support for accessing online forms, such as the Disability Parking Permit and other government forms which, without assistance, can be frustrating for many.

“The new Power Saving Bonus can also be challenging so if you need help, please contact us.”

The centre currently offers a wide range of activities from wood-working to gardening, mosaic making, scrapbooking, craft, ballroom dancing, and family history along with table tennis, archery and croquet and more.

Ms Ryan said there are new initiatives already in the pipeline/

“We are working towards establishing a stargazers astronomy club using our new telescope, a dry pantry food security facility and a walking group,” she said.
