Emergency services respond to Carisbrook crash

A man aged in his 70s escaped serious injury this week when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree in Carisbrook.

Police, ambulance, CFA and SES crews attended the single-car crash which occurred at around midday on Wednesday.

Maryborough Police Constable Erin Barkway said the man was travelling east on Bucknall Street and had a dog in the car when the crash occurred.

“The vehicle has come off the road and hit a tree, flipping onto its roof,” she said.

“There was a dog in the car but he’s fine, we checked him over and he wasn’t even shaking.”

The man was taken to a Ballarat hospital with minor injuries.

Con Barkway said the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
