Contact training and competition for under 18 netballers has been given the thumbs up by the state body for netball this week, while seniors will have to wait until July to get their starting whistle.
Netball Victoria has confirmed that State Government restrictions announced on Monday are applicable to the sport of netball.
In a statement released on Wednesday night, Netball Victoria confirmed that under 18s can start full contact training and competition and that all netballers can again access indoor facilities.
Groups of 20, plus a coach, are currently allowed to train however adults must still follow social distancing and non-contact advice.
Netball Victoria said it is committed to a safe return to play and is in consultation with both AFL Victoria and Basketball Victoria to work out the best was to reboot community sport.
“Netball Victoria is pleased to release the updated Return to Community Netball guidelines, following the recent Victorian Government announcements regarding the lifting of some COVID-19 restrictions. We are excited to have a road map which paves the way for the return of community sport in Victoria,” the statement read.
