MSLC upgrades progressing well

Central Goldfields Shire chief administrator Noel Harvey and project manager Grant Rogers inspected works at the Maryborough Sports and Leisure Centre last week, with courts in the Matthew Dellavedova Stadium resurfaced and relined.

The ball is well and truly rolling on the Maryborough Sports and Leisure Centre upgrade, with works expected to be completed next month.

The more than $600,000 project includes upgrades to the existing male and female change rooms and a Changing Places change room constructed in the swimming pool area.

The Changing Places change room will be a fully accessible space with change table, toilet, shower, ceiling mounted hoist and compliant grab rails.

The existing men’s and women’s change rooms will be renovated with new toilets, showers, seating, flooring, improved ventilation, installation of water efficient fittings, installation of non-slip flooring, new benches to suit people with mobility issues, hand basins and dividing partition walls in men’s and women’s change rooms.

The upgrade will also deliver a disability friendly entry to the pool area, modifications to the main reception area, a new pedestrian pathway and disabled car parking.

Another major component to the upgrade is works to the two courts in the Matthew Dellavedova Stadium and Central Goldfields Shire project manager Grant Rogers said the courts have already seen three weeks of sanding.
