Toyota drive to help those impacted by COVID-19

Maryborough Toyota branch manager Chris Keen is encouraging community members with excess and unwanted non- perishable items to donate them to the dealership this Friday.

Maryborough Toyota will assist in distributing non-perishable goods to the community this week in a bid to reduce the economic impact of COVID-19.

This Friday between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm, the dealership will be taking donations of non-perishable foods and general items which will then be distributed locally by Foodshare.

Maryborough Toyota branch manager Chris Keen said donations can be made without community members having to leave their car.

“We’ll cordon off four of the car parks out the front (opposite the Coles Express service station) and we’ll have a marquee up and it’ll be stationed with people in high-vis vests,” he said.

“All you have to do is pull up in the marked area out the front, people will come and take the items out of your boot or back seat and we’ll go from there — you don’t even have to get out of your car.”

The initiative is designed to ease financial pressures members of the community may be feeling and Mr Keen said all donations are welcome.

“We’re after non-perishables so things like canned food, deodorants, wipes, pet food, anything really,” he said.

Donations can be made this Friday, May 22 at the Maryborough Toyota Dealership from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.
